Following an extensive period of reconstruction after the 2005 tsunami, Four Seasons is unveiling three new holiday experiences in the Maldives, including two very different resorts and a luxury catamaran. The opening of the resorts marks the return of two hundred local staff who were deployed to work at other Four Seasons properties around the world after Kuda Huraa was forced to close following the tsunami.
The brand new resort at Kuda Huraa opened at the end of September 2006 with a traditional Maldivian village setting and legendary Four Seasons service. The second resort, at Landaa Giraavaru, opens on 1 November 2006. Situated in the Baa Atoll, the resort is designed as a secluded paradise hideaway. A luxury catamaran allows guests to further explore the Maldives’ more remote atolls.
Activities available to guests include scuba diving, a luxury spa, a surf school and fine dining. And if you’re worried about environmental issues, Four Seasons is fully committed to help preserve the magnificence of the Maldives’ marine gardens, with initiatives such as the Reef Ball and the Maldives’ first Ornamental Fish Breeding Programme
