With the launch of its fabulous new 8C Competizione, Alpha Romeo has served a striking reminder of its rich sporting heritage. One man heavily influenced by his time as a driver for Alpha Romeo is Italian designer Giuliano Mazzuoli, now known for high quality watches such as the Manometro. In honour of the new 8C, production of which will be limited to just 500 cars, Mazzuoli is launching the Contagiri, a watch inspired by the rev counter on the classic Alpha Romeo GT.
The Contagiri employs a retrograde movement and features a gear-lever crown that changes the function of the bezel, which is used to either set the time or wind the watch, depending on the gear selected. Clever and striking, it's as desirable as the 8C.
