Kent & Curwen, maker of traditional British menswear, is launching a flagship store in Conduit Street this September. The brand, established in 1926 by Eric Kent and Dorothy Curwen, started out as a manufacturer of club, college and regimental ties, later expanding into cricket sweaters and rugby socks.
Today the company is known for prestigious tailoring and quirky casualwear, such as tweed coats and classic paisley shirts. The just-released Autumn/Winter ‘06 collection takes its design influence from the 1970s, with pinched waists and oversize lapels.
