Wolf's clothing

Dress codes exist to test us. They test the size of our wardrobes and they test our patience for ever-changing fashions. One way to negotiate the smart/casual minefield is to forget casual. After all, a sharp suit and shoes is an efffortless combination. But for those who wish to persevere, finding casual footwear that's as timeless as it is stylish is a perennial problem. Berluti has a potential solution. Its new range of moccasins make for stylish weekend wear, and have a touch of the wolf about them.

The "Lune Rousse" and "Terre Brûlée" shoes are both made from calfskin, with the former washed and buffed in pumice, making them waterproof and soft to the touch. The Terre Brûlées are sewn with stitches that the designer claims evoke "paw prints on a wolf's trail".  The "Dreams Catcher" and "Iroquois" styles complete the range—both would complement a dark blue suit, or jeans. All four designs are finished with a special wolf's paw-print tread, sculpted from gum, providing extra grip and a degree of wolverine style.
