Designer's new contemporary range
Red Lacquer has unleashed its New York range of contemporary furniture on London. The company's Portuguese director Joana de Noronha opened a new showroom in Chelsea late last year, and is ready to bring a new range of furniture, lighting and accessories to the UK market. The gap, she says, is for "design-led" items that aren't "overly design-conscious". Interior designer Tereza Prego, who supplies Red Lacquer exclusively, calls her New York collection "fresh and cosmopolitan". The collection's centrepiece is a set of huge Soho floor lamps, which, straight on, appear urn-shaped, but close up reveal themselves as flat.
