The real fun run

Ex-Formula 1 world motor racing champion Damon Hill waves the Beaujolais Run off on 14 November from Goodwood, in West Sussex. Home to the two of the best car festivals in the UK—the Festival of Speed and the Revival, this run is one of the few motoring events to pit Ferrari directly against Fiat.

This works because "the run" isn’t about speed, but rather about finishing the course with the least distance covered. It's also for cahrity, raising cash for Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Down’s Syndrome Association.

“Money and manners are more important than metal,” says a Beaujolais Run organiser. But there will be plenty of fantastic cars taking part. Look out for Jason Dawe in a Jag XKR convertible and ex-world women’s rally champion Penny Mallory,  competing in a S-Type. It’s also rumoured that car-loving Jodie Kidd could be joining in, too.
