The Glyndebourne festival

The Glyndebourne festival opens with a new production, L'incoronazione di Poppea by Claudio Monteverdi. The first staging of Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel takes place between July and August. More familiar operas include Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring and Bizet's Carmen.
